What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a very old medical art. It is more than a thousand years old ancient medical practice. Acupuncture
promote natural healing. Each patient are custom treated. This is done by inserting needles and applying electrical
stimulation or heat at very precise acupuncture points.

Acupuncture can treat various medical conditions, promote health and well being, and prevent illnesses.

What is an Acupuncture treatment like?

  • During treatment, needles ( usually finer than hair) are inserted in specific acupuncture points in the body.
  • The selected points are based on diagnosis and treatment goals.
  • Treatments are usually pain free and comfortable.
  • The needles are pre-sterilized individually wrapped, and are disposable.
  • Most people fint the treatment relaxing.
  • Some people feel immediate results or changes in symptoms.
  • It is safe, effective, and has virtually no side effects.
  • It treats the whole person and not just the disease one.

How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture sends messages to the brain via specific acupuncture points, which stimulates the body to heal itself.

These messages can stimulate the immune system, lessen pain, promote circulation, or can have other specific
actions.

The needles activate the hypo-thalamus and pituitary glands, resulting in board spectrum of systematic effects,
including changes in secretion of endorphins which are hormone –like neurotransmitters and change in blood flow.

These transmitters cause relaxation and feeling of well being during acupuncture treatments.
